Tide gauge location

The GRP building houses the tide gauge system which consists of a POL data logger monitoring the anemometer, wind vane, and the three pneumatic bubbler systems. The pressure points being mounted on steelwork which is attached to the sheet pile wall.

The tide gauge is levelled to the tide gauge bench mark supported by Ordnance Survey auxiliary marks.

Site history

1994 – DATARING data logger installed with two full-tide and a mid-tide bubbler system
2001 – Anemometer and wind vane installed
2002 – POL data logger installed
2005 – Tide gauge system was shut down and all equipment removed as the site has been sold for redevelopment
